【摘要】:Thispracticesupportsleadpoisoningpreventionactivitiesbyprovidingstandardizedproceduresforconductingvisualassessments.ThispracticeisintendedtobeusedwithotherASTMstandards,asappropriate,forconductinglead-hazardassessments.ConsultPracticeE1864forinformationregardingaqualitysystemforfieldactivitiesandconsultGuideE2052forguidanceinmanagingleadhazards.Thispracticeisintendedforusebyindividualstrainedtoconductvisualassessmentsassociatedwithlead-hazardactivitiesandinreportingtheirresults.Thispracticeisalsoapplicableforusebyothersinterestedinvisualassessmentofpropertiesforleadhazards,suchasbuildingcodeofficials,homeowners,andinsurers.1.1Thispracticedescribesproceduresforconductingvisualassessmentsinbuildingstovisuallyidentifythetypeandlocationofpotentialleadhazards.Thesepotentialhazardsareassociatedwithdeterioratedleadedpaint,leadindust,orleadinsoil.1.2Thispracticesaddressesvisualassessmentproceduresforfourlead-hazardactivities:leadrisk(hazard)assessment,clearanceexamination,assessmentofpaintcondition,andre-evaluationinspection.1.3Becausethereisconsiderableoverlapamongtherequirementsforthesefourtypesoflead-hazardactivities,thisstandardfirstdescribesagenericvisualassessmentprocedure,andthendefinesaspecificprocedureforeachassessmenttypeintermsofadditionsto,ordeletionsfrom,thegenericprocedure.1.4Thispracticedoesnotaddresstestingneededtoconfirmthepresenceofleadhazards.1.5Thispracticecontainsnotes,whichareexplanatoryandarenotpartofthemandatoryrequirementsofthisstandard.1.6Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
